Churchill SC Ltd have safely completed the final stage of the internal survey and repair of the concrete silos on the coal handling plant at British Steel Scunthorpe.

The contract was completed by an eight man strong team consisting of steeplejacks, confined space rescuers and IRATA level 3 rope access technicians.

The work scope included accessing the internal walls of each silo and installing a full modular access scaffold from which a survey of the internal concrete silo walls could be completed and any repairs identified, completed.

Throughout the duration of the contract Churchill worked very closely with British Steel to ensureĀ  all silo’s not being surveyed and repaired could remain fully operational.

The contract was delivered ahead of programme, within budget and without incident.
