Fire Risk Register for Felt Cutting and Hot Works Insurance

Following the decision by insurance companies now making it a requirement that a naked flame has to be 4.5 metres away from a source of combustible material, a complete re think is required.

The National Federation of Roofing Contractors have recently confirmed that it was no longer possible for a company to obtain insurance for the use of naked flames. This has resulted in a plea by roofing specialists to manufacturers requesting them to change the application method of their products.

One of the concerns following this decision made by the insurers, is that there will be a return to tar boilers, anecdotal evidence of which has already been received by the NSCC National Specialist Contractors Council.

Churchill have a solution to this problem in the form of Liquid Rubber a cold applied encapsulating product proven for over 20 years developed and proven extensively in Canada and now available in the UK.
